Where TNPSC publishes Group 4 question papers
TNPSC publishes each recent Group 4 question paper inside its tentative answer key. On the answer keys page, each Group 4 row has a link to the tentative keys, one PDF per subject, and each PDF carries the full question booklet with the tentative answers. We checked this for the 2025 Tamil paper, whose cover reads CCSEIVGT/2025 with 200 questions for 300 marks. The final key, published months later, is a separate PDF.
TNPSC’s separate “previous year question papers” page lists only the 2011 Group IV papers for differently abled candidates, so the answer keys page is the place to look.
Group 4 papers by year
“Question papers” opens TNPSC’s page of tentative keys for that exam, one PDF per subject. “PDF” is the final answer key.
Subject codes on those pages: in 2025, 496 is the Tamil Eligibility-cum-Scoring Test with General Studies and 004 is General English with General Studies (for the candidates allowed to take it). The 2024 page uses codes 003 and 004, and the 2022 page code 003. Older Group 4 keys, back to 2012, are on the same answer keys page.
These papers follow the old syllabus
Every paper above was set before Annexure III of Notification No. 11/2026 (syllabus Code 496). The 2026 syllabus has no separate Current Events unit, joins Indian history with the national movement and the economy with Tamil Nadu’s development administration, and fixes the number of questions in each unit. Past papers are still the best practice for the question style and the Tamil part, but do not plan your unit weightage from them. The 2026 syllabus page has the new question counts.
How to use a past paper
- Sit it as the real thing. All 200 questions in three hours, in one go, with no breaks and no phone.
- Mark it the real way. 1.5 marks a correct answer, nothing for a wrong one or [E], and 0.5 off for every question left blank. The marks calculator does the sums.
- Use the final key, not the tentative one. Some answers change after challenges; in 2025 a few questions were keyed “ALL” or with two options.
- Review by unit. Write down which units your wrong and blank answers came from, and spend the next week on the biggest gaps.
- Check Part A first. Below 60 of 150 in the Tamil part, the rest of the paper is not evaluated, so that score comes first.
Nextstep4u tests can be sat online in Tamil and English, under the same three-hour clock, and end with a report on the sub-topics costing you marks.
Questions people ask
Where can I download TNPSC Group 4 previous year question papers?
On TNPSC's own answer keys page at tnpsc.gov.in. Each Group 4 exam has a tentative key link with one PDF per subject, and each PDF contains the full question booklet with the tentative answers. The final answer key is a separate PDF on the same page.
Are TNPSC Group 4 question papers available with answers?
Yes. The tentative answer key PDFs show the questions with TNPSC's tentative answers, and the final answer key PDF gives the answers after challenges. Use the final key when you mark a past paper.
Do past Group 4 papers follow the 2026 syllabus?
No. The 2025, 2024, 2022 and 2019 papers were set before the 2026 syllabus (Code 496), which changed the units and fixed the number of questions in each. They are still good practice for question style and the Tamil part.
When were the recent TNPSC Group 4 exams held?
On 12 July 2025, 9 June 2024, 24 July 2022 and 1 September 2019. The next one is on Sunday, 10 January 2027.
